Museum Lovers Escape
Museum hopping in the Hamptons? Yes, it really can be done. There are more than a half-dozen museums to visit during your stay here, and most are hidden gems unbeknownst to the general public. Our Museums Lovers Escape includes accommodations and complimentary tickets to the Parrish Art Museum, where you'll get a private docent-led tour, along with another museum of your choice.
We love the Parrish Art Museum, in Water Mill, which has an exceptional collection of works from the 19th century to the present including pieces by heavy hitters like Jackson Pollock and Chuck Close. The East Hampton Historical Society manages seven national landmark historic sites including an 18th-century schoolhouse and Mulford Farm, dating back to the late 17th century and considered one the most significant English Colonial farmsteads in the country. Fashion lovers will appreciate The Leiber Collection, in a Renaissance-style Palladian building and displaying a collection of designer Judith Leiber’s sparkly handbags. Oil paintings by her late husband, Gerson Leiber, are also part of the collection. And we can't leave out the LongHouse Reserve, a beautiful 16-acre reserve and sculpture garden in East Hampton which features pieces from acclaimed artists including Buckminster Fuller, Yoko Ono and Willem de Kooning.
